theory  /ˈTHirē/  a set of principles on which the practice of an activity is based.

We subscribe to the theory that the best method to improve potential is by including constantly varied preparation in order to broaden your range of abilities. With an array of experience, we are better equipped to transfer and apply one or more familiar skills to solve unfamiliar problems. Following this methodology means we are unlikely to develop the deepest expertise or pinnacle of skill for any one specific task. However, the challenges we will encounter are dynamic, complex, unpredictable, and do not conform neatly to match those we can mimic in training.

Above all else, we believe this training should be fun. If you don't enjoy it, you probably wont engage long enough to maximize your opportunity to improve. 

Range Theory is my vision to make action shooting accessible and appealing to a broader population of outdoor sports enthusiasts. As an Army officer with two decades of ongoing experience in U.S. Army Special Forces, I've had the privilege to experience rifle and pistol shooting in dynamic training settings that fostered an enjoyment for the sport most public ranges can't provide. I've designed our ranges and events specifically for small groups to experience shooting in a way that has been so familiar to me but so difficult for most to access.

In addition to my military career, I have also spent close to a decade of experience in corporate finance and strategy. I feel fortunate to have developed an uncommon balance of capabilities that include operational leadership, quantitative analysis, and an ability to communicate and connect with people across cultural divides.

The range is located about halfway between Charlotte, North Carolina and Columbia, South Carolina near I-77 exit 48. It is 45 minutes from Five Points in Columbia and just under an hour drive from the SouthPark Mall in Charlotte. 

The range operates by reservation only and is not open on a set schedule for drive up visits.
